2 Safety2.1 Identifying Safety <strong>Instructions</strong> inthe <strong>Operating</strong> ManualThe safety instructions contained in these instructions,which could result in personal injury if not followed, areidentified by the general danger sign:Before driving on public roads andbefore every start check the machinefor traffic and operational safety!2.3 Safety <strong>Instructions</strong> andAccident Prevention Regulations1. Please follow all generally applicable safety andaccident prevention regulations in addition to thesafety instructions contained in theseinstructions!Safety sign in accordance with DIN 4844 - W9General function instructions are indicated as follows:2. The attached warning and safety signs provideimportant information for safe operation. Payattention to these for your own safety!3. When using public roads, make sure to observethe applicable traffic regulations!<strong>Instructions</strong> which are attached to the machine need tobe followed and kept fully legible.2.2 Proper UseThe swather is built exclusively for customary use inagricultural work (proper use).Any use of the machine for other purposes is deemednot to be in accordance with specifications. Themanufacturer is not liable for damage resulting fromthis, the user alone bears the risk for this.The proper use shall also include the adherence to theoperating, maintenance and repair conditions set by themanufacturer.Persons who use, service or repair the swather must betrained in its use and instructed as to the risksconnected with its operation.The applicable accident prevention regulations and allother generally recognized safety, health and roadtraffic regulations must be observed.If unauthorised modifications are made to the machine,the manufacturer is released from liability for anyresulting damage.4. Make sure that you are familiar with allequipment and controls as well as their functionsbefore you begin working with the machine. It istoo late to learn this when you are operating themachine!5. The user should wear tight fitting clothes. Avoidwearing loose or baggy clothing.6. Keep the machine clean to prevent danger of fire!7. Before starting or moving the machine, makecertain that nobody is in the vicinity of themachine! (Watch for children!) Make sure thatyou have a clear view!8. Carrying passengers during operation and transporton the working implement is not permitted.9. Attach implements correctly! Attach and secureimplements to specified devices only!10. When attaching or removing implements, place thesupporting devices in the correct positions!11. Use extreme caution when attaching or detachingimplements onto or from the tractor!12. Always attach ballast weights properly to the fixingpoints provided!13. Observe permitted axle loads, gross weight andtransport dimensions!14. Check and attach transport equipment such aslighting, warning devices and any protectiveequipment!II - 1
