Fire Code Seating with COMFire Code Seatingwith COM.The Fire Code Seating option isavailable on certain chairs withCOM. Fire code approval is based onchair model and specific textile combinations.To find out if a specific COM is FCSapproved on a Steelcase seating product,check the COM Web site atwww.Steelcase.com:—Click on “Knowledge & Design”—Click on “Customer’s Own Material”—Click on “Fabric test results”In this matrix, there is a “FC” (fire code)line for each fabric, with a code word thatdescribes the fabric’s availability on eachchair line:—“All” means that the fabric in question isavailable as FCS on all models of thechair line.—“Restricted” means that the fabric isavailable as FCS on some models ofthe chair line.—“Unknown” means that the fabric has tobe qualified as FCS on that chair line.—“None” means that the fabric is notavailable as FCS on that chair line.Due to the many different combinationsof fabric contents and changesthat could be made by Steelcase toseating models, fabrics that havebeen previously approved for firecode may need to be re-tested forqualification.For complete information about specifyingCOM on FCS modified chairs, call yourSteelcase COM consultant at616.475.2426 or fax inquiries to:616.698.4700.
