Educ<strong>at</strong>ion, Agribusiness,Agriculture, Agronomy, Aquaculture, Aqu<strong>at</strong>ic Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, Botany, Crop Science,Entomology, Environmental Horticulture, Fisheries, Food Science, Horticulture, Landscape Design,Marine Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Ornamental Horticulture, and Plant Science.Attached to this message is a one-page flyer about the internships we offer in plant science, entomology,biotechnology, and aquaculture. We’d like to ask for your assistance in posting this flyer in a place wherepotentially interested students will see it and/or share it. <strong>Agricultural</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong><strong>at</strong>The <strong>Agricultural</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong> Professional <strong>Internship</strong> <strong>Program</strong> is designed to provide qualifiedcollege students with the opportunity for hands-on work experience in the uniquegrowing areas th<strong>at</strong> are part of Living with The Land, an agricultural <strong>at</strong>traction <strong>at</strong> Epcot®.Responsibilities:In addition to maintaining the show quality of our growing areas,aquaculture systems and biotechnology lab, interns will spend asignificant amount of time leading inform<strong>at</strong>ive and interactive Guesttours through our facilities, along with promoting and selling thesetours. Additional training sessions, classes and meetings will bescheduled throughout the semester. Other duties vary by discipline:AquacultureOper<strong>at</strong>e a recircul<strong>at</strong>ing freshw<strong>at</strong>er aquaculture facility. Monitorfiltr<strong>at</strong>ion systems and w<strong>at</strong>er quality, assist in diagnosis and control ofdisease, and raise fish to marketable size for <strong>Walt</strong> <strong>Disney</strong> <strong>World</strong> ®restaurants.BiotechnologyMaintain a tissue culture production facility. Prepare media andculture a wide variety of plants. Then, collect, package and deliverthe tissue-cultured plants to Epcot ® merchandise loc<strong>at</strong>ions.EntomologyBecome an integral part of The Land’s Integr<strong>at</strong>ed Pest Managementprogram. Rear and maintain insect colonies, release beneficial insectsinto greenhouse crops, and maintain entomology-rel<strong>at</strong>ed shows.Plant ScienceMaintain a high-quality show of hydroponically-grown food cropsfrom around the globe.
