Geological Sciences & Geological EngineeringQueen’s <strong>University</strong><strong>GEOL</strong> <strong>481</strong>/<strong>816</strong>STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS<strong>Course</strong> <strong>Outline</strong>GENERALMechanisms of brittle and ductile deformation applied to geological structures and rock fabrics.Emphasis on structures in greenstone belts and continental collision zones, fracture and vein analysis,and studies of superposed deformation. Applications to problems in energy and mineral resourcesgeology and continental tectonics studies. <strong>GEOL</strong> <strong>816</strong> offered jointly with <strong>GEOL</strong> <strong>481</strong>, but extraassignments are given. Two hours lecture, one tutorial, and two hours lab.
