Imagine that you and some fellow classmateshave won a contest to travel to one of the countries of Europe.Explore that country by using the Internet to plan your trip.BackgroundEurope has long been a travel destination for people from all partsof the world. It has a rich cultural and historical heritage. In addition,<strong>European</strong> countries have plenty of buses, trains, and subway systems. Thesethings make Europe a desirable vacation spot. Many people in the<strong>Unit</strong>ed States have <strong>European</strong> ancestry. Perhaps your family immigrated fromone of these countries many years ago. Choose a country and discover whatobjects of interest might make it a place you would enjoy visiting. Then imaginethat you are actually there!What to Do1. You and three classmates have won a trip to one of the <strong>European</strong>countries. Explore some Web sites and take a virtual journey, or spend sometime in the library researching information. “Visit” three major cities in thecountry. Create a Travel tri-fold pamphlet in Publisher including the followinginformation that you discovered when you visited these cities: historicallandmarks, museums, foods you tried, and transportation methods you used Besure to include pictures in the pamphlet. Part of your grade will be based on thedetails provided about the information.2. Design and create a postcard that depicts a unique landmark, food, or festivalfrom the country you visit. On the back of the postcard, write a persuasiveparagraph and explain why other people should visit this particular feature of thecountry. Address it to your social science teacher living in the <strong>Unit</strong>ed States.3. Design a T-shirt that features a place or people unique to that country (forexample, a red double-decker bus from London). Make your T-shirt colorful,and be sure to label it accordingly. Create a drawing of your T-shirt to share withthe class
