ANNEX AProject 17- 6:Project Manager:Kelly Lake Protected AreaDepartment of Indian Affairs <strong>and</strong> Nor<strong>the</strong>rn Development (DIAND) – Nor<strong>the</strong>rnAffairs Program (NAP)Obligations Addressed:Proposed17.4.1 (a) The l<strong>and</strong>s described in schedule -, appendix E, shall be set aside <strong>and</strong> protected by Canadain order to preserve <strong>the</strong> natural environment of <strong>the</strong> area in its natural state <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefit<strong>and</strong> enjoyment of <strong>the</strong> public.(b) Subject to existing rights, titles or interests in <strong>the</strong> l<strong>and</strong>s in (a), Canada shall withdraw <strong>the</strong>l<strong>and</strong>s in (a) from <strong>the</strong> disposition of surface interests at <strong>the</strong> same date as <strong>the</strong> withdrawal ofl<strong>and</strong>s pursuant to 1.12 of appendix C.ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY TIMING GUIDELINES(in sequence)1. Subject to existing rights, titles or interests in NAP at <strong>the</strong> same date as <strong>the</strong><strong>the</strong> l<strong>and</strong>s in (a), Canada shall withdraw <strong>the</strong>withdrawal of l<strong>and</strong>sl<strong>and</strong>s in (a) from <strong>the</strong> disposition of surfacepursuant to 1.12 ofinterestsappendix C2. En<strong>for</strong>ce prohibition of any permanent or NAP as requiredsemi-permanent occupation of <strong>the</strong> KellyLake Protected Area by implementing <strong>the</strong>"Unauthorized Occupancy of Territorial L<strong>and</strong>s- En<strong>for</strong>cement Procedures".3. Remove debris left by <strong>the</strong> public using <strong>the</strong> NAP annuallyKelly Lake Protected Area<strong>Plan</strong>ning Assumptions:- Since <strong>the</strong> current usage of <strong>the</strong> proposed Kelly Lake Protected Area by <strong>the</strong> public is along <strong>the</strong>shoreline of Kelly Lake, <strong>the</strong> inspection <strong>for</strong> <strong>and</strong> removal of debris will be along <strong>the</strong> shoreline. Should itbecome known that <strong>the</strong>re is a problem of debris in o<strong>the</strong>r areas of <strong>the</strong> protected area <strong>the</strong> removal ofsuch debris shall also be carried out.SAHTU IMPLEMENTATION PLAN 90
