ANNEX AProject 16 - 2:Project Manager:Participant/Liaison:Changing boundaries of a National Park, once establishedDepartment of Environment - Canadian Parks Service (CPS)Sahtu Tribal Council (STC)Obligations Addressed:16.1.7 Once established, the boundaries of a national park shall not be reduced without the consent ofthe Sahtu Tribal Council. The boundaries of a national park shall not be enlarged except byOrder-in Council, proclamation or legislation after consultation with the Sahtu Tribal Council.ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY TIMING GUIDELINES(in sequence)1. Notify the STC of a proposal to reduce the CPS after settlementboundaries of a national park in thelegislationsettlement area2. Review the proposal and grant or withhold STCconsent3. Notify the STC of a proposal to enlarge the CPS after settlementboundaries of a national park in thelegislationsettlement area; provide the STC with areasonable period of time to prepare its viewson the matter; and provide the STC with anopportunity to present its views4. Review the proposal and present views to STC within period providedCPS5. Give full and fair consideration to the CPSviews presented6.
