ANNEX ACOST WORKSHEET NOTESRenewable Resources BoardIt is assumed that:- <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will be comprised of 3 representatives of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council, 1representative from each of <strong>the</strong> Canadian Wildlife Service, <strong>the</strong> Department of Fisheries <strong>and</strong> Oceans,<strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department of Renewable Resource (GNWT) <strong>and</strong> an independent chairperson;- <strong>the</strong> office of <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will be located in <strong>the</strong> settlement area;- <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will conduct <strong>the</strong> Settlement Area Harvest Study;- <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will house <strong>the</strong> Settlement Area Harvest Study staff;- <strong>the</strong> funding identified as start-up costs will be managed by DIAND;- during <strong>the</strong> 9 month start-up period board members will be appointed, a budget <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> first year of <strong>the</strong>Settlement Area Harvest Study will be prepared <strong>and</strong> submitted to government, <strong>and</strong> staff hiring <strong>and</strong>office set up will be initiated;- <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will be fully operational by <strong>the</strong> beginning of year 2;- <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board will have 7 meetings of three days per year;- <strong>the</strong> chairperson will have one preparation day per meeting;- travel, accommodation <strong>and</strong> meals expenses <strong>for</strong> board meetings cover <strong>the</strong> expenses of all boardmembers (if representatives are government employees no honorarium will be paid);- <strong>the</strong> line budget projections <strong>for</strong> meeting <strong>and</strong> travel costs are based on:- honoraria <strong>for</strong> chairperson a $275 per day;- honoraria <strong>for</strong> board members (D $200 per day;- travel a $390 per travelling board member;- accommodation (2 $100 per night; <strong>and</strong>- meals <strong>and</strong> incidentals @ $53 per day;- <strong>the</strong> annual budget projections will be subject to review <strong>and</strong> approval by government.The <strong>Implementation</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>and</strong> associated funding may be amended from time to time as determined by<strong>the</strong> <strong>Implementation</strong> Committee.SAHTU IMPLEMENTATION PLAN 66
