ANNEX ACOST WORKSHEET NOTESSettlement Area Harvest StudyIt is assumed that:- <strong>the</strong> planning phase will begin approximately 6 months after <strong>the</strong> establishment of RenewableResource Board: during <strong>the</strong> planning phase <strong>the</strong> Working Group will meet 3 times <strong>for</strong> 2 days (with oneday <strong>for</strong> travel) to develop <strong>the</strong> design <strong>and</strong> methodology of <strong>the</strong> harvest study, <strong>the</strong> RenewableResources Board will review <strong>and</strong> agree on <strong>the</strong> study proposal, staff <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> study will be recruited,hired, <strong>and</strong> provided with <strong>the</strong> required orientation, <strong>and</strong> respondents <strong>and</strong> community of <strong>the</strong> study details(<strong>the</strong> planning phase will be conducted over approximately a 6 months period);- <strong>the</strong> Working Group will be comprised of 3 representatives of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council, 1representative of <strong>the</strong> Department of Renewable Resources (GNWT), 1 representative of <strong>the</strong>Department of Fisheries <strong>and</strong> Oceans, 1 representative of <strong>the</strong> Canadian Wildlife Service(Environment);- honoraria <strong>and</strong> expenses are listed <strong>for</strong> <strong>Sahtu</strong> representatives only (<strong>the</strong> travel <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r expenses ofgovernment representatives will be paid by <strong>the</strong> appointing government);- <strong>the</strong> planning meetings of <strong>the</strong> Working Group will be held in <strong>the</strong> settlement area;- <strong>the</strong> Study Supervisor will train <strong>the</strong> fieldworkers at orientation sessions;- <strong>the</strong> harvest data will be collected over five consecutive years;- <strong>the</strong> Working Group will convene annually to review methodology <strong>and</strong> design <strong>and</strong> to assess progress;- <strong>the</strong> required administrative <strong>and</strong> technical support <strong>and</strong> office space <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Settlement Area HarvestStudy will be provided by <strong>the</strong> Renewable Resources Board;- <strong>the</strong> annual budget <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Settlement Area Harvest Study will be prepared <strong>and</strong> submitted by <strong>the</strong>Renewable Resources Board;- <strong>the</strong> line budget projections <strong>for</strong> meeting <strong>and</strong> travel costs are based on: - honoraria <strong>for</strong> Working Groupmembers (a $200 per day; - travel @ $390 per travelling board member; - accommodation a $100 pernight; <strong>and</strong> - meals <strong>and</strong> incidentals @ $53 per day;- <strong>the</strong> annual budget projections will be subject to review <strong>and</strong> approval by government.The <strong>Implementation</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>and</strong> associated funding may be amended from time to time as determined by<strong>the</strong> <strong>Implementation</strong> Committee.SAHTU IMPLEMENTATION PLAN 52
