ANNEX AProject 13 - 4:Settlement Area Harvest StudyProject Manager:Participant/Liaison:Renewable Resources Board (Board)Government of <strong>the</strong> Northwest Territories (GNWT) - Department of RenewableResources (DRR), Department of Fisheries <strong>and</strong> Oceans (DFO), Department ofEnvironment (DOE) - Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS), <strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council(STC) (STC), Renewable Resources Councils (RRCs)Obligations Addressed:13.5.6 A Settlement Area Harvest Study shall be conducted in order to provide necessary in<strong>for</strong>mation<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>and</strong> government to effectively manage wildlife. The terms of reference <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>harvest study are set out in schedule I to this chapter.Referenced Clauses: schedule I to chapter 13, 13.8.38ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY TIMING GUIDELINES(in sequence)1. Establish a Working Group, composed of Board within 18 months ofequal representation of <strong>Sahtu</strong> <strong>Dene</strong> <strong>and</strong>settlement legislation<strong>Metis</strong> <strong>and</strong> government agencies with wildlifemanagement responsibilities2. Develop <strong>the</strong> methodology <strong>and</strong> design of <strong>the</strong> Working Group, Board within 21 months ofharvest study in accordance with <strong>the</strong> termssettlement legislationof reference in schedule I3. Approve <strong>the</strong> methodology <strong>and</strong> design of <strong>the</strong> Board within 22 months ofharvest studysettlement legislation4. Prepare <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> harvest study Board between 18 <strong>and</strong> 24months after settlementlegislation5. Initiate <strong>the</strong> harvest study Board within two years ofsettlement legislation6. Conclude <strong>the</strong> harvest study Board within seven years ofsettlement legislation7.
