ANNEX AProject 26 – 12:Project Manager:Participant/Liaison:Joint working group reviewing <strong>Sahtu</strong> heritage places <strong>and</strong> sites<strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council (STC)Department of Environment (DOE) - Canadian Parks Service (CPS),Government of <strong>the</strong> Northwest Territories - Education, Culture <strong>and</strong> Employment(ECE)Obligations Addressed:26.4.1 A joint working group shall be established, at a date to be set out in <strong>the</strong> implementation plan,<strong>and</strong> shall continue <strong>for</strong> a period of not more than two years from that date, unless o<strong>the</strong>rwiseagreed.26.4.2 The joint working group shall have five members:(a) two members appointed by government;(b) two members appointed by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council; <strong>and</strong>(c) one member, to serve as chairperson, selected by <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r four members.26.4.3 The joint working group shall consider <strong>and</strong> make recommendations to <strong>the</strong> appropriate Ministeror government agency <strong>and</strong> to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahtu</strong> Tribal Council with respect to <strong>the</strong> following <strong>Sahtu</strong> heritage places<strong>and</strong> sites:(a) <strong>the</strong> Ramparts;(b) Scented Grass Hills;(c) Grizzly Bear Mountain;(d) Red Mountain;(e) <strong>the</strong> Site of Sir John Franklin's 1825 Wintering Quarters;(f) Loon River/Fort Anderson Trail; <strong>and</strong>(g) such o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>Sahtu</strong> heritage places <strong>and</strong> sites as may be agreed by <strong>the</strong> joint working group.26.4.4 (a) The costs of <strong>the</strong> joint working group shall be <strong>the</strong> responsibility of government. The jointworking group shall prepare an annual budget, subject to review <strong>and</strong> approval bygovernment.(b) Any financial obligations which follow from accepting <strong>the</strong> recommendations of <strong>the</strong> jointworking group shall not be a cost of implementing this agreement.ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY TIMING GUIDELINES(in sequence)1.
