ANNEX AProject 26 - 8:Project Manager:Participant/Liaison:Preferential hiring of Sahtu Dene and MetisCanada, Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT)Sahtu Tribal Council (STC)Obligations Addressed:26.2.8 The Sahtu Dene and Metis shall have preference in being hired at public sites, museums,heritage resource projects, archaeological works and similar public facilities and projects in thesettlement area related to Sahtu heritage resources, in a manner to be set out in the protectedarea agreement or, where there is no protected area agreement, in the management or workplans for the public sites, museums, projects, facilities and works referred to in this chapter. TheSahtu Tribal Council shall be consulted in the development of plans.Referenced Clauses: chapters 12 and 17ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY TIMING GUIDELINES(in sequence)1. When a public site, museum, heritage government after settlementresource project, archaeological work orlegislationsimilar public facility or project in the settlementarea related to Sahtu heritage resources whichis not subject to a protected area agreement isinitiated, notify the STC during the developmentof management or work plans advising on thenature and extent of the preferential hiringprovisions proposed; provide the STC with areasonable period of time to prepare its viewson the matter; and provide the STC with anopportunity to present its views.2.
