ANNEX A- It is assumed that the Sahtu Dene and Metis agreement and the accompanying Implementation Planwill be ratified and signed prior to the expiry of the mandate of the Coordinating Group. If this doesnot occur it is agreed that activity 1 will be amended as required.- If any board or similar body is established by such legislation to carry out the monitoring and auditfunctions referred to in 25.1.4(a) in the settlement area, the Sahtu shall be entitled to a meaningfulrole in such board or agency to be set out in legislation, after consultation with the Sahtu TribalCouncil.- If the monitoring or environmental audit functions referred to in 25.1.4(a) are carried out in thesettlement area by a department of government, the department shall do so in consultation with theSahtu Tribal Council.SAHTU IMPLEMENTATION PLAN 138
