A new record in TrinidadSince the beginning of the new millennium, wehave chased and met a significant target in ourfield of play. The target? To upgrade our TCLplant in Trinidad in order to fully satisfy all ourmarkets. That target was successfully met in2005. The US$21.8 million dollar installationof Cement Mill 3, at our Claxton Bay plant inTrinidad brought TCL’s production capacity to1.2 million tonnes of cement per year, whichis twice the domestic demand. That’s a newrecord for us.And yet, our great achievements in Trinidaddon’t end there. We were proud to play ourpart in readying Trinidad for Cricket World Cupby providing our product for the refurbishmentof the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain. Whilewe contributed to upgrading Trinidad’s stadiumto world class standards, we continued our driveto expand and upgrade our regional operations.In this regard, TCL’s product was also utilised forthe building of new stadia in Antigua, Grenada,St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Vincent.Our high level of investment in upgrade projectsfor our plants coupled with our growingworkforce of over 1000 are strengthening ourreputation as a premier partner in regionaldevelopment.Annual Report 2006
