The front speak erscan still be con nect ed to yourreceiver.The subwoofer’s internalamplifi er supplies the power toreproduce the low fre quen cyrange. It receives a sample ofthe signal going to your frontspeakers. (An in sig nifi cant fractionof your receiver’s power istrans ferred to the subwoofer).There is noneed to use thespeaker levelinputs if you areusing a sep a rateam pli fi er and preampli fi er. Suchsystems arebest con nect edusing the line levelinputs as shown in the pre vi ousdiagrams.RECEIVERMAINOUTPUTSL RIf you are using the linelevel inputs and there is aexcessive amount of noiseor hum present, using thespeak er level inputs may yield alower background noise level.TO FRONT SPEAKERSYour receiver MUST have com mongrounded outputs, or it will be damagedif con nect ed to the sub woof -er’s speaker level inputs. 17
