System Confi gurationsThe following pages show some typicalcon nec tions that you might make in yourin stal la tion. They show how the inputsand outputs of the Sunfi re Subwooferare con nected to your pream pli fi er orreceiver.Connections to a preamplifi er’s subwoofer outputIf your preamplifi er has asubwoofer output (often labeled LFEfor Low Fre quen cy Ef fects), it can becon nect ed to the sub woof er’s Left(Mono) input as shown. This is thesimplest and rec om mend ed connection.A receiver with a sub/LFEoutput can be con nect ed in thesame way.DIM - STANDBYBRIGHT - ONThe sub woof er will play the lowfrequency range and the otherspeakers will play the frequencyrange delivered to them by youramplifi er.If you have a HomeTheater pream pli fi er,it may have an in de -pen dent subwoofer volumecontrol. Make surethis is correctly ad just ed,and that the Sunfi reSubwoofer’s cross overfrequency is set to 100Hz. This is by no meansan iron-clad rule, rather itis a good starting point.(See the cross over frequencycontrol details onpage 6 and ad just mentson page 18).PREAMPLIFIERLSUB/LFE OUTAMPLIFIERLINPUTSRRMAINOUTPUTSYou can set the sub woof er’s Volumecontrol to 0 dB, and then use thepreamplifi er’s sub woof er level control fornormal and routine ad just ments.TO FRONT SPEAKERS14
