FCI advocates for maternal and reproductive healthand rights at the global, regional, and country levels; builds the capacity of local partners inAfrica, Latin America, and the Caribbean; and develops information and training materials onmaternal and reproductive health and rights. FCI is headquartered in New York, with field officesin sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.FCI's Communications team works to further FCI’s mission by conveying its work andachievements, enhancing its reputation, strengthening its fundraising efforts, and supporting itsprograms by producing and disseminating high-quality education and advocacy materials. Responsibilities include:Primary Responsibilities:• Work within a brand identity and style to create innovative and effective designs.• Conduct photo research. Retouch, format and edit photos if needed.• Format layouts including but not limited to curriculum, reports, brochures andpromotional items using Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXpress.• Prepare print orders and files for prepress and printers.• Review layouts and proofs for correct format and colors.• Check stock and order reprints.• General administrative tasks as assignedQualifications:• 4-5 years of related experience• Reliable, detail oriented, organized and efficient.• Strong design and typography abilities and proficiency with the Mac platform andsoftware applications such as Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator andQuark Xpress required.• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.• Illustration skills helpful.• Apple tech savvy big plus.• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well both with a team and autonomously.Conditions of Service: 5 days per week – 35 hoursPeriod of service: Three-month temporary full-time position to start immediately.Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience.Benefits: Statutory benefits only, no fringe or any other benefits included.
