During the reconsideration, the adjudicator or case manager may requestadditional assessments, in accordance with the policies outlined in Chapter6 of this Manual.Once the adjudicator or case manager collects any additional informationthat may be required, the adjudicator or case manager applies the policiesoutlined in Chapter 7 of this Manual and decides whether the originaldriver fitness determination was correct or whether a differentdetermination is required.In some circumstances, a request for review will trigger a new driverfitness determination, based on new assessment results, rather than areconsideration of a previous determination. This will occur if anindividual:submits new information indicating a change in their medicalcondition or functional ability to drive, orasks for a review of a determination that is based on assessments thatare more than one year old.8.2 Conducting reconsiderationsPolicy8.2.1 If an individual asks in writing for a review of a driver fitnessdetermination, and provides detailed reasons for the request, anadjudicator or case manager will reconsider the determination.8.2.2 If the assessments upon which the determination were based wereperformed more than one year prior to the date of the request forreview, a case manager or adjudicator will generally make a newdriver fitness determination, based on new assessments, rather thanreconsidering the previous determination.75
