Because the effects of a lack of stamina oncognitive function may not be evident during the course of the shortcognitive screening tests, OSMV will generally request a DriveABLEassessment of individuals whose cognitive functions necessary fordriving may be impaired by a lack of stamina, even if the results ofthe cognitive screen show that the individual’s cognitive function isnot impaired.If cognitive screening indicates that the cognitive functions necessaryfor driving are impaired, OSMV will not request further assessments.Individuals are not fit to drive if a functional assessment indicatesdeclining performance over the course of the assessment, orotherwise indicates that the lack of stamina impairs the individual’sfunctional ability to drive the types of vehicles allowed by their classof licence.No conditions are required.No restrictions are required.OSMV will re-assess every two years, unless the treating physicianrecommends annual re-assessment.In order to be fit to drive, an individual must be able to maintain asufficient level of functional impairment over time.
