The Champion • Wednesday 4 September 2013Burglary rise ‘due topoor housekeeping’Report by Holly RummensRESIDENTS in Formby are beingurged to ensure they keep allvaluables out of view after a rise inburglaries and thefts in the area.After a recent presentation on policeissues across Formby, Crosby andMaghull, Neighbourhood Inspectorshave found a slight rise in burglariesparticularly in the Formby area.Nearly half of the incidents inFormby were due to poorhousekeeping such as leaving doorsunlocked or placing valuables ondisplay.Inspector Stewart said: “Much of therise was due to lapses in goodhousekeeping, such as leaving doorsunlocked and having valuables ondisplay in cars.
