Osmore Pond Recreation AreaOperat<strong>in</strong>g Season:Memorial Day Weekend to Columbus DayOsmore Pond is a 48-acre undevelopedpond with a recreation area accessible throughNew Discovery <strong>State</strong> Park. No <strong>in</strong>ternal combustioneng<strong>in</strong>es are allowed on the pond. There is a logframedpicnic shelter and a picnic area at the end ofthe road on the west side of the pond. Hik<strong>in</strong>g trailsto a number of dest<strong>in</strong>ations <strong>in</strong> <strong>Groton</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Forest</strong>orig<strong>in</strong>ate from here.There are four remote lean-to sites andthree campsites along the shores of Osmore Pond.The sites are accessible only by hik<strong>in</strong>g or boat<strong>in</strong>g,and are equipped with a fireplace and picnic table.There is a “boat to remote” package for thosewithout a boat, which <strong>in</strong>cludes overnight camp<strong>in</strong>gand boat rental.Kettle Pond <strong>State</strong> ParkOperat<strong>in</strong>g Season:Memorial Day Weekend to Columbus DayKettle Pond is a 109-acre undevelopedpond accessible off of VT Route 232. There areseven remote lean-to sites with fireplaces and onetent site with a fire r<strong>in</strong>g. All sites are accessibleby boat or hik<strong>in</strong>g trail. A group camp<strong>in</strong>g area islocated on the southeastern shore.Both Osmore and Kettle Ponds offer anopportunity to view a variety of wildlife, such asloons and moose. Osmore Pond is stocked withbrook trout, while Kettle Pond is stocked withra<strong>in</strong>bow trout.
