The EZ Boost systemis used inapplications whereit is necessary toincrease systempressure.Its rugged designand easy-to-useinterface ensuresmaintenance freeoperation. The small footprint of the pumpallows the system to be positioned eithervertically or horizontally, depending onthe needs of the application.The EZ Boost system offers the followingfeatures:••••Dry-running protectionHigh efficiency of pump & motorExcellent wear resistanceSoft starter• Over voltage & under voltageprotection••••Overload protectionOver temperature protectionVariable speedElectronic control & communicationPUMPModified SQE submersible pumps areused for the EZ Boost system. The BMQEpump is an SQE pump with an MSE 3motor. Both the pump and motor arecentered in the 4” stainless steel sleeve.MOTORMSE 3 motors are based on state-of-thearttechnology within permanentmagnets, which accounts for the highmotor efficiencies. The motors have abuilt-in electronic unit with a frequencyconverter for variable frequency and softstarting.They feature high efficiency within a wideload range. The high and flat efficiencycurve of the permanent magnets motor,enables the same motor to cover a widepower range, as opposed to conventionalAC motors. For BMQE, this means fewermotor variants.CONTROLLERThe BMQE features variable speed, whichis offered through frequency control viathe EZ Boost controller. As a consequence,the pump can be set to operate in anyduty point in the range between theminimum and maximum performancecurves of the pump. Each BMQE must beconnected to its own controller. It is alsopossible to operate the BMQE withoutthe controller however, the featuresoffered will be fewer.Constant Pressure SystemIn constant water pressure systems,only the required discharge pressureneeds setting. Cut-in/out pressures donot play a role in this system.In Grundfos’ BMQE constant waterpressure system (EZ Boost), this isdone by a simple touch of a buttonon the accompanying CU 301 controlunit.
