* You must provide training to all employees including (Supervisors, Office Personnel, Drivers, Tour Guidesand Trip Planners. (Training in-Sensitivity and appropriate interaction, Handling and Storage of mobility devices,boarding assistances and maintenance of accessibility vehicles) This would be anyone that would have any contactwith your customers, whether in person, by phone or those planning the trip. Your office personnel must betrained to handle calls and process the required forms.* Either your company must have an ADA accessible bus, lease one or have a written agreement withanother carrier to gain access when needed.* You must keep records on all ADA related request on file. When a call is received, the appropriate formmust be completed and filed. A copy of that request must be sent to the person making the request and a post tripform must be completed and filed. These records must be retained for 5 years.* Maintain a service log showing that the lift has been inspected on a regular basis.* Keep all the above information, including training programs available readily for inspection by a FMCSAinspector.Classes will be held in Knoxville (December 10th-Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park), Nashville (December4th –Radisson Opryland Hotel) & Memphis (December 3 rd - Memphis Marriott East) All classes will befrom 9am-5pm with a break from 1pm-2pm for lunch (on your own). Do I have to have the training? Yes! If you are an Over the Road Buscompany you must meet all the regulations. Most disabilities don’t require an accessible coach. But youand your company must have the training to know how to handle all passengers with disabilities.(See list of disabilities on page 1)Will these classes be offered again? No! This is a onetime thing. Approved class providers are The OpenDoor Organization and Easter Seal. At this time they are no online or video training that we are awareof. The TMCA is paying all fees to speakers including transportation, accommodations, materials andmeals. Plus any fees related to the meeting including meeting room, AV or refreshments.Can I send employees to different locations for classes? Certainly! We just need the count to beprepared.If you wish to attend please complete the following form and return with payment. Pre-registration isrequired so the speakers can be prepared.
