The air preheating tubes are made from 4' lenghtsof 5/8" corregated stainless steel natural gas lines. (Detailsare in GEK Report #1). The fuel was halved walnut shells atapproximately 15% moisture content.I was very pleased the relative lack of deposition on thetubes. This is a gasifier afterall. I expected much greater soot and tar deposits given thetemp differential between the hot gas exterior and the coldair interior.Lower parts of the tubes have more particulate deposits.
