Recently, Holger Mohr took over the UnitedStates operations for Custom Chrome Inc.Holger had been successfully running theCCI European operation for several years. One ofHolger’s fi rst tasks was to show how relevant the CCIparts catalog was and prove that a ground-up custommotorcycle could be built using the vast resourcesavailable in the catalog. Holger was not going to besatisfi ed with a mild custom; he wanted to build ashow winner that would make people remember theCustom Chrome name. Combining European andAmerican infl uences, Holger built a modern Chopperwith head turning looks in only four months, and ridesit daily. The brown metal fl ake, silver metal fl ake, pinstripes, and gold leaf inserts that comprise the paint andgraphics came from the creative minds of the Pfeilcrew in Austria. An up close inspection reveals thefl awless application of these materials.Holger’s motor is a 2008 Total PerformanceEngineering, show polished 121” monster. Feedingthe beast is a 45mm flat-slide Mikuni carburetor. ACrane single fire ignition sparks the plugs on time, every time. This TP motor cranks out 120 horsepowerwhich is more than enough to push this lightweightRigid machine right up to the speed limit and beyond.A BDL two inch wide open primary belt drive and BallBearing Lock-Up Clutch move the power to the rearwheel by the use of RevTech secondary chain drivecomponents.Holger had the West Coast Choppers Rigid frameequipped with a West Eagle suspension saddle thatuses four-inch shocks to keep the rider isolated fromthe bumps and jars of the road surface. The SJP RetroLine front fork has been extended six inches usingCCI tubes. A RevTech “Eliminator” front wheel with aMetzeler 120/70 21 tire mounted uses a blacked outWilwood four piston brake caliper and an 11.5 inchrotor for stopping. The rear wheel is an 18 X 5.50RevTech Eliminator, and it too uses a blacked outWilwood caliper for stopping. The rear tire is a 180/55VR 18 Metzeler.Fred Kodlin “Bonanza” handlebars look mighty spiffysitting on top of WCC four-inch risers. The grips cameall the way from Custom Chrome Europe, as did theX-Wing LED taillight assembly. Footpegs and controlsare Rebuffi ni; the gas tank is from WCC/CCI andgoes by the name of “Villain.” Holger’s motorcyclewas constructed entirely by European specifi cationsusing a TUV-approved CFL frame and a Euro 3 EPmotor. It is now ridden on American highways andbyways. If you like what you see, it’s all in the CustomChrome Catalog. For more information, visit www.customchrome.comor contact your local Custom Chrome dealer.64 - January 2009 - AmericanCycleMag.com American Cycle Magazine
