ESGE Compact Library
!
We are happy to announce that the ESGE
Compact Library DVD, a compilation of
the existing ESGE Teaching Encyclopedia,
is now available for online order to all
ESGE individual members.
This DVD incorporates the highlights of
volumes 1–26, in which world class experts
demonstrate ERCP, EUS, Upper and
Lower GI tract procedures. Diagnostic, as
well as therapeutic techniques are explained
and demonstrated in detail.
Meanwhile the recently formed ESGE elearning
working group, chaired by Lars
Aabakken, is busy preparing new teaching
aids. In addition to this revised encyclopedia
which will remain a benefit to
ESGE individual members, selected material
will be distributed on the OLGa platform
for online access.
ESGE Research grant
!
Online application now open!
ESGE research grants are awarded to the
best research projects in the field of gastrointestinal
diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopy.
Two grants of 10 000 € per year are
awarded to ESGE individual members.
Support is preferably given to multicentre
projects presenting original ideas by well
organised teams with a reasonable budget.

ESGE Given Imaging Research grant
!
The Given Imaging research grant has
been initiated to support innovative, original
research in gastroenterology with
substantial involvement of capsule endoscopy.
One grant of 8000 € per year is awarded to
ESGE individual members.
A substantial number of capsules will be
provided, the number determined by the
Research Grant Committee on review of
the successful grant application.
Travel expenses and Ethical Committee
fees will be covered up to a maximum total
value of € 8000.
The grant for the year 2012 was awarded
to Dr Koulaouzidis, UK, to support the
study “A combination of PillCam ® SB2 and
SmartPill ® in the investigation of patients
referred for assessment of small-bowel
Crohnʼs disease and association with faecal
calprotectin levels”.
