Kokaj et almolybdenum. The thickness was selected low tobe able to extend the transmittancemeasurements to high photon energies. Theabsorption coefficient spectrum of the film wasdetermined from the transmittance spectrumusing the same technique described in our papers[16, 17, 18, 19,] The analysis of these datarevealed that in the energy range of E = 1.49 –1.77 eV, (aE) 2 against E consists of two very closestraight segments, as theoretically is explainedellswhere [18, 19] which is observable only in anextended sale.Sample As-deposited 300˚C (air) 300˚C (N 2 )(111) (220) (311) (111) (220) (311) (111) (220) (311)CdTe/SS 100 1 0.8 100 2 1 - - -CdTe/Ni 100 18 5.5 100 27 9.6 100 34.3 12.5CdTe powder 100 73.5 36.2 - - - - - -Table 1.In Figure 3 the experimental results of theabsorption coefficient as a function of photonenergy for the single-crystal CdTe are shown. Onthe other hand, the experimental results for thedirect allowed transition at 1.51 eV are shown inFig. 4. This is in agreement with correspondingintercepts of E axis that are the measure of twodirect allowed transition 1.49 eV and 1.53 eV[19].The corresponding intercepts with the E axisprovide two direct allowed transitions at 1.49 and1.53 eV.originally deposited on stainless steel at adeposition potential of – 580 mV (o), for a 0.23μm thin film deposited initially on molybdenumat -580 mV(x), and for single-crystal CdTe (solidline).Fig. 4. Direct allowed transition in a 0.23 μm thinCdTe film deposited initially on molybdenum at -580 mV.This is in excellent agreement with the mostrecent value (1.514 eV) reported for single crystalCdTe at room temperature [20].Fig. 3.
