ANNUAL SPORTS DAYWe had a successful Annual Sports Day on the 22 nd February, 2013 at the JafferySports Club. Students participated enthusiastically in the various events organized<strong>for</strong> the day. <strong>The</strong> event ran between 9.00 am and 12.30 pm. Some of the activities ofthe day included obstacle races, tyre turning, dressing sprints and relays. Sprintswere a major attraction <strong>for</strong> most students. Both parents and teachers had a chanceto take part in the flat races. After a day full of fun and positive competition, Greenhouse were crowned the champions of 2013. Congratulations to all <strong>for</strong> making it amemorable day.During the term, our students have participated in different sports activities. <strong>The</strong>seinclude football, swimming, hockey and basketball. In addition to their in-housematches, they played matches with other private schools in Nairobi. <strong>The</strong> U-17 girlsdid particularly well when they beat Loreto Convent Msongari 1-0 and drew 1 – 1against St. Austin in their football match. <strong>The</strong> U- 13 girls emerged fourth overall inthe IPSSA hockey league having drawn all their games. Congratulations.A kind appeal to all the parents, please ensure that your child/ren are equippedwith house color T- shirts <strong>for</strong> future in house activities and the official PE kit. <strong>The</strong>seare available from Haria Uni<strong>for</strong>m, Sarit Centre or Animet, Yaya Centre.FLEECE JACKETS<strong>The</strong> cold season sets in next term. We would like to encourage all parents to gettheir children a fleece jacket from our uni<strong>for</strong>m providers so as to keep them warm.Please note that the students will not be allowed to come in any other jackets.Please make a point of labeling all your child/ren’s uni<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> ease of identification.“...students will not be allowed to come in any other jackets”.EA/MSMUN CONFERENCE<strong>The</strong> annual EA/MSMUN conferences were held this term at the UN headquartersin Gigiri. <strong>The</strong> conference provided a <strong>for</strong>um <strong>for</strong> the students to interact with theirpeers from round the world as they participated in rigorous debates. <strong>The</strong> EAMUNdelegation managed to scoop a Best Resolution Award. We applaud these students<strong>for</strong> their hard work. ADJUSTMENT OF TERM DATESDue to the recent elections, the school remained closed <strong>for</strong> a week; as a result, wehave adjusted the term dates so as to meet our academic requirements. We shallthere<strong>for</strong>e break <strong>for</strong> Easter on Thursday 28 th March and school shall resume <strong>for</strong> thirdterm on Monday 9 th April, 2013. (Please note this is a change from the earlier dateindicated on the school calendar that was issued earlier in the term)FEES PAYMENTTo enjoy the 5% early bird discount, all fees must be paid on or be<strong>for</strong>e 8 th April,2013. Please note that the deadline <strong>for</strong> payment of all fees is 22 nd April, 2013, outstandingfees after this date will attract a 5% late payment charge and students willnot be allowed in school.
