Saint-Ouen l'Aumône, 9 October 2012Contacts :Air Liquide Welding CommunicationGeorges ROURE+33 (0)1 34 21 32 74Air Liquide WeldingAir Liquide Welding group is a leadingplayer in the development of welding andcutting technologies, offering the mostcomplete range of related equipment, consumables and services on the market, through internationally well known brands:OERLIKON and SAF-FRO for the industrialmarkets and CEMONT for the professionalmarketsWith its Technical Centre for WeldingApplications (CTAS), acknowledged as thelargest private welding research centre in theworld, Air Liquide Welding pursuescontinuous innovation, constantly strivingto improve the performance, productivity, safety and comfort of operators. With the WST 310W MS and WST 359W MS torches AirLiquide Welding complete his range of welding fumessuction torches.Press releaseThe WST 310W MS and WST 359W MS are two new water-cooledsuction torches. They have the same basic features that the WST torchesrange with the aim of the safe environment for welders and the conformanceto legal rules regarding man at works. With their screwed nozzle and a 300 A at 100 % duty cycle for the WST310 W MS (single cooling circuit) or 420 A at 100 % for the WST 359 WMS (double cooling circuit giving excellent results for the aluminium welding)these torches are the ideal “tools” for efficiency and performance even in themost demanding applications. The two new Air Liquide Welding models are torches with micro switch andlong swan neck (Air Liquide Welding patent pending : micro switch torcheand device for regulation of the suction flow). When welding in confined spaces it is necessary to control the suctionflow. On standard suction torches, this regulation is done via a manual slideon the torch handle. Opening this slide, when performed during the weldingoperation can lead to defects in the welding bead due to lack of penetrationor bad position of the torch. Furthermore as this action is done by the welderhe can forget to close the sliding device in the handle and go on with it’swelding operation in non safe conditions for him. Thanks to the microswitch placed on the torch handle, pressing it will allow toreduce the suction rate without changing the weld bead.Modulation control can be achieved by continuing support (when releasingthe button, there is a return at nominal flow) or by action in two stages: firstpulse rate decrease, the second pulse, return to nominal flow). In this case, there is a return to the nominal flow automatically at the end of the arcWith these new products Air Liquide Welding pursues its goal to continuouslydeliver the metal working companies and their welders, more powerful toolsand better suited solutions for achieving optimal quality and a healthy workenvironmentwww.airliquidewelding.com
