• Take responsibility for the development and monitoring of a curriculumarea(s) or whole school curriculum aspect(s), as agreed from time totime;• Support the Head Teacher in the monitoring of the quality of teachingand children’s achievements including the analysis of performancedata;• Support the Head Teacher in developing links with parents, otherschools, education institutions and the wider community, includingbusiness and industry, in order to enhance teaching and learning andchildren’s personal development;• To secure and sustain effective teaching and learning throughout theschool with the 2 nd deputy through structured monitoring, evaluationand review processes and to include, as appropriate, liaison withinspectors, advisers, consultants and the LA;• To ensure appropriate support and interventions are put in place, asnecessary, to secure effective teaching and learning and that pupilsexperience continuity of learning and effective progression to maximiseacademic potential.C. Leading and managing staff:• Support the Head Teacher in developing positive working relationshipswith and between all staff and provide and sustain motivation;• Lead groups of staff in developmental activities, delegate appropriatelyand evaluate outcomes;• Support the Head Teacher in the implementation of the school’sperformance management policy;• To line manage Assistant Heads and subject leaders as appropriateso as to ensure the effective delivery of the Curriculum and the use ofdata in line with school policies, and securing high quality teaching,learning and assessment throughout and across departments;• To participate in the recruitment and deployment of teaching andsupport staff;• To deploy staff effectively through the production of the schooltimetable.DEffective deployment of staff and resources:• Support the Head Teacher in the appointment, deployment anddevelopment of staff to make most effective use of their skills, expertiseand experience and to ensure that all staff have a clear understandingof their roles and responsibilities;
