Garden Consultation<br />

ann Marie Zawistowski, the <strong>Gardens</strong>’ rosarian and cottage gardener,<br />

provides consultations geared to the landscapes of home<br />

gardeners, including a tour, descriptions of plant combinations<br />

and garden design, and 20–30 minute one-on-one discussions.<br />

Participants will receive a Plant Shop discount. Please bring a<br />

sketch, photos, and other information detailing a representative<br />

area of your garden.<br />

Planting a Cutting Garden<br />

Many of the flowers and foliage contained in the arrangements<br />

in <strong>Westbury</strong> House are from the <strong>Gardens</strong>’ own cutting garden.<br />

Head Gardener Scott Lucas will discuss how to plan a cutting<br />

garden with suggestions for site design and plantings.<br />

Everybody Loves Roses<br />

Summer Rose Care<br />

a tour of the roses at <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Westbury</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong> in the Rose Garden<br />

and Walled Garden will be given by ann Marie Zawistowski, the<br />

<strong>Gardens</strong>’ rosarian. a demonstration and lecture on summer rose<br />

care will follow. Learn about proper fertilizing, watering and<br />

dead heading to keep your roses healthy and full of blooms.<br />

Please bring gloves and pruners to participate in a demonstration<br />

of dead heading.<br />

Sustainable Roses<br />

ann Marie Zawistowski, the <strong>Gardens</strong>’ rosarian will give a lecture<br />

on how to grow roses without the use of harsh chemicals. She<br />

will discuss cultural practices, green products, disease resistant<br />

varieties and cultivars. a tour of the roses at <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Westbury</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong><br />

will follow.<br />

Border Design<br />

Join Kim Johnson, the head gardener of the Walled Garden for<br />
