NetworX panels with the version 2software could experience two separate issues that will affect the performance of thepanel for the end user. Further information on each of the two issues is detailed in theattached Cus<strong>to</strong>mer Notice.Although <strong>GE</strong> <strong>Security</strong> has received no incident reports in which a system failed <strong>to</strong> alarmdue <strong>to</strong> these faults, we are asking dealers <strong>to</strong> upgrade all NX version 2 products affected.We are asking for your assistance in notifying dealers these products can cause issuesfor an end user. End Users have two options for correcting both software issues: 1)Programming can be updated <strong>to</strong> avoid the errors or 2) The main circuit board can bereplaced with a newer version. Below is important information dealers will need <strong>to</strong>participate.This voluntary upgrade program affects all panels in the following families, including allkits:NX-4 family NX-6 family NX-8 familyVersion 2 panels have been manufactured since December 2005, date codes affectedare 0105- 2905. Those panels with version 1 software or date codes 3005 and newer arenot affected. All new upgraded panels can also be noted by a blue dot next <strong>to</strong> the partnumber or barcode on the product label.If you have any affected NetworX version 2 panels in inven<strong>to</strong>ry, please contact <strong>GE</strong><strong>Security</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>mer service for an RMA <strong>to</strong> return those products for replacement.<strong>GE</strong> <strong>Security</strong> would like <strong>to</strong> work with you <strong>to</strong> identify cus<strong>to</strong>mers who may have purchasedan NX version 2 panel <strong>from</strong> you, and encourage them <strong>to</strong> contact their cus<strong>to</strong>mers withthe upgrade options. To facilitate this notification, we have enclosed a sample <strong>letter</strong> thatyou may use <strong>to</strong> send <strong>to</strong> your cus<strong>to</strong>mers. Please contact Cus<strong>to</strong>mer Service at 888-<strong>GE</strong>SECURITY (888-437-3287) for information on alternative contact measures, such as <strong>GE</strong><strong>Security</strong> sending <strong>letter</strong>s <strong>to</strong> your cus<strong>to</strong>mer list on your behalf.

Cus<strong>to</strong>mers can also contact <strong>GE</strong> <strong>Security</strong> Technical Support for furtherinformation or assistance. If a cus<strong>to</strong>mer chooses <strong>to</strong> have the main circuit boardreplaced, a replacement Board Only can be ordered <strong>from</strong> <strong>GE</strong> <strong>Security</strong>, free of charge.
