The Republic <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kenya</strong> shall be a multiparty democraticstate.2. This <strong>Constitution</strong> is the <strong>Constitution</strong> <strong>of</strong> the Republic <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kenya</strong>and shall have the force <strong>of</strong> law throughout <strong>Kenya</strong> and, subject tosection 47, if any other law is inconsistent with this <strong>Constitution</strong>, this<strong>Constitution</strong> shall prevail and the other law shall, to the extent <strong>of</strong> theinconsistency, be void-Provided that the provisions <strong>of</strong> this section as to consistency withthis <strong>Constitution</strong> shall not apply in respect <strong>of</strong> an Act made pursuant toto section 15A(3).<strong>Constitution</strong> <strong>of</strong>Republic <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kenya</strong>.3 <strong>of</strong> 2008CHAPTER IITHE EXECUTIVEPART ITHE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE-PRESIDENT4. There shall be a President <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kenya</strong>, who shall be the Head <strong>of</strong>State and Commander-in-Chief <strong>of</strong> the armed forces <strong>of</strong> the Republic.5.
