Challenge helps groups andindividuals achieve transformational goals insafe settings.Following the training, you will be able toapply your skills with youth groups as a 4-HChallenge Facilitator.As a 4-H Ropes Challenge Facilitator, you willbe able to:• Take groups on the BSD Low RopesCourse• Check out Portable Challenge equipment• Access our Challenge Resource Library• Obtain WSU Challenge Leader liabilitycoverage• Work with other 4-H Challengedevelopment programs statewide4-H ChallengeLow Ropes/Portable Course TrainingSeptember 4,5 & 8,9,10,118:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Portable/Low Ropes ChallengeInstructor Certificationis a six day, 48 hour course.This training will take place at the 4-HChallenge Course, Bellingham School DistrictGordon Carter Environmental site.Registration:Registration fee of $250/leader includes 48hours of training and copies of JourneyTowards the Caring Classroom and the WSU4-H Challenge Course Technical Manual andLeader Guide. Clock hours are usuallyavailable for an additional fee of $2 per hourplus $5 processing fee. Faced with the stressesof institutionalization, or the force of poorinternalized scripting, do we regularly createenvironments that ensure caring, equality andinsight for ourselves and others?Communication, choice, decision-making,leadership, teamwork and positive riskidentification are key elements of experientialexploration as groups work toward achievingtheir group and individual goals in a Challengeenvironment.
