Rome, GA For shame to take land away from it's own people. Cut
their funding from the US and give this money back to our
own citizens.

investors might be trying to buy this specific land - land
already providing sustenance for already living people and
communities. But I do know prominent American
universities have in some cases used endowment funds for
these purchases in current time.
I also know this is an "old" story in human affairs, (previous
famines in different lands, including the Irish potato
famine!) The outrage of people being dispossessed from
land in current times is seen in Mexico following NAFTA. It
is also documented in Frances Moore Lappe's book "Food
First", published around 1970.
This practice is an outrage committed by those "of
privilege". It is a crime in moral terms, and is rooted in
greed. That it continues bodes ill for 21st Century
humanity.
