FBI<strong>The</strong> FBI will continue to lead through its Innocent Images <strong>National</strong> Initiative. <strong>The</strong>y will alsofocus on further coordination <strong>and</strong> cooperation with ICAC task <strong>for</strong>ces in both investigations <strong>and</strong>training, <strong>and</strong> increasing capacity <strong>for</strong> digital <strong>for</strong>ensic examinations. <strong>The</strong> FBI further plans toparticipate in the NIDS. <strong>The</strong>y will continue to focus on domestic child prostitution through theInnocence Lost <strong>National</strong> Initiative, <strong>and</strong> will continue partnerships with International allies,Interpol <strong>and</strong> NCMEC in the identification of victims of child pornography.5. United States Marshals Service<strong>The</strong> Marshals Service will st<strong>and</strong> up a fully operational <strong>National</strong> Sex Offender Targeting Centerto better track <strong>and</strong> apprehend fugitive sex offenders. <strong>The</strong>y will also increase training <strong>for</strong>apprehension of fugitives who abduct children. <strong>The</strong> Marshals Service also plans to host othercountries <strong>for</strong> discussion of national sex offender registries. <strong>The</strong> Marshals Service will continueto develop their Behavioral Analysis Unit, which will develop key research to aid in sex offendertracking <strong>and</strong> apprehension. Of course, the Marshals Service will continue to aggressively pursue<strong>and</strong> apprehend fugitive sex offenders <strong>and</strong> en<strong>for</strong>ce all aspects of the sex offender registries infulfillment of their Adam Walsh Act obligations. <strong>The</strong> Marshals Service also plans to participatein the <strong>National</strong> Internet Crimes Against <strong>Child</strong>ren Data System. (“NIDS”)6. Interpol WashingtonINTERPOL Washington will continue to establish a <strong>Child</strong> Protection Division through theallocation of additional dedicated positions. In support of the Adam Walsh Act, this divisionwill focus on providing immediate <strong>and</strong> secure communications with <strong>for</strong>eign <strong>and</strong> domestic lawen<strong>for</strong>cement partners through the INTERPOL I-24/7 network in order to monitor theinternational movements of convicted <strong>and</strong> non-compliant fugitive sex offenders. <strong>The</strong>se ef<strong>for</strong>tswill be coordinated with the state sex offender registries, the U.S. Marshals Service, <strong>and</strong> the<strong>National</strong> Sex Offender Tracking Center. INTERPOL Washington will also continue to broadenthe use of the INTERPOL Notice System in order to locate <strong>and</strong> apprehend non-compliantfugitive sex offenders, locate missing <strong>and</strong> abducted children, <strong>and</strong> combat child sex tourism.V. CONCLUSION<strong>The</strong> Department is committed to the success of its <strong>National</strong> <strong>Strategy</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Exploitation</strong><strong>Prevention</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Interdiction</strong>. Continued investment in personnel <strong>and</strong> technology will be a priorityas we fight the scourge of child exploitation. Cooperation <strong>and</strong> coordination at all levels ofgovernment will lead to better results <strong>for</strong> our nation’s children. As this Report has shown, theDepartment is already increasing its <strong>for</strong>ensic <strong>and</strong> prosecution capacity, two key componentsnecessary to attack this problem. <strong>The</strong> spirit of our children, <strong>and</strong> their continued innocence,dem<strong>and</strong>s our best ef<strong>for</strong>ts. We can do no less.144
