Immediate restorati<strong>on</strong> of <strong>Straumann</strong> implants<br />

all two-part implants of <strong>the</strong> straumann ® Dental implant system, unless c<strong>on</strong>traindicated,<br />

are also approved for immediate restorati<strong>on</strong> in <strong>the</strong> edentulous and in <strong>the</strong> partially<br />

edentulous jaw. requirements are good primary stability and suitable occlusal loading.<br />

several adjacent implants should be rigidly splinted by a pros<strong>the</strong>sis. in edentulous<br />

indicati<strong>on</strong>s, at least 4 implants must be rigidly splinted.<br />

<strong>the</strong> following indicati<strong>on</strong>s in immediately loaded and pros<strong>the</strong>tically restored implants<br />

have not been documented and are <strong>the</strong>refore not recommended:<br />

p last molar in <strong>the</strong> maxilla and/or mandible<br />

p pros<strong>the</strong>tic extensi<strong>on</strong>s (attached crown) <strong>on</strong> single implants<br />

Soft tissue healing/b<strong>on</strong>e healing<br />

<strong>the</strong> postoperative review intervals should be adhered to as follows:<br />

p weekly review and oral hygiene instructi<strong>on</strong> for 2 – 3 weeks after implantati<strong>on</strong><br />

p regular hygiene checks including X-ray (according to <strong>the</strong> patient‘s oral hygiene<br />

routine) until pros<strong>the</strong>tic restorati<strong>on</strong> starts<br />

p no peri-implant inflammati<strong>on</strong> with suppurati<strong>on</strong><br />

p ankylotically stable implant with clear percussi<strong>on</strong> note<br />

no c<strong>on</strong>tinuous peri-implant lucency <strong>on</strong> X-ray<br />
