AC15H1TVLHERITAGE COLLECTIONLOOKNOFURTHERYour search for the Holy Grail ofVOX tone ends here. To commemoratethe 50th Anniversary of VOX guitaramplifiers, we are pleased to introducethe first of a new commemorativerange of amplifiers – the AC15H1TVhandwired combo. Rather than just atypical reissue where a vintage amp isdusted off and copied, this amplifiertransports you through the golden ageof VOX tone, combining the prized EF86preamp channel of 1960 with the 1963df;jk;Top Boost channel all-in-one amplifier.Add in some modern tone shaping controlenhancements and the result is perhapsthe finest VOX amplifier in the company’s50 year history. >>4 5

AC15H1TVHERITAGE COLLECTIONghjk;df;ghjk; In limited edition hardwood and classiccream vinyl, the new AC15 handwiredcombo is the first offering in VOX’s newHeritage Collection. The EF86: The magical VOX toneWhat is it that makes EF86-based VOX amplifiers some ofthe most collectible in the world? Maybe it’s the way theamp naturally overdrives, almost breathing with a life ofits own. Dynamic changes in pick attack almost seem tobe anticipated before you make them. Or maybe it’s theraw power of the creamy distortion as you crank the ampall the way up and slam down on a power chord. Whateverit is, there is an undeniable magic about this period of VOXamplification. An age when the most simple of circuitsproduced some of the most complex of tones. Now in shortsupply, the EF86 Pentode tube is at the heart of this elusivetone. Fifty years later, the magic returns. The AC15H1TV: A detailed lookThe 15-watt handwired AC15 features two channels of VOXtone through a single 12" Celestion Alnico “Blue” speaker. The tube complement is made up of 1 x EF86, 3 xECC83/12AX7, 2 x EL84, and 1 x EZ81 (rectifier).Channel 1 is the EF86 Preamp channel and features twoinputs wired in the traditional way that gives them a 6 dBgain difference between them. A two-position BASS SHIFTswitch is included, with position 1 voiced to the originalvintage-correct bass response and position 2 voiced totighten the bass response and reduce any muddinessduring high volume use. The three-position BRILLIANCESWITCH provides flat response when in the OFF position.Position 1 is a new position voiced like the early AC30“Treble” amps, while position 2 is the original brilliancecircuit, which acts as a dramatic bass cut. The EF86 Modeswitch re-configures the EF86 valve from Pentode modeto Triode mode. Triode mode will give a lower gain tonewith higher headroom. Pentode mode is the famed originalmode and has a very sweet high gain tone with not verymuch headroom.Channel 2 is the Top Boost Preamp channel. LikeChannel 1, this channel includes two inputs wired with a6 dB gain difference between them. The Treble and Basscontrols are from the 1963 Top Boost circuit and areextremely interactive. Very minor adjustments of thesecontrols can yield dramatic changes in tone color. And true to VOX form is the Top Cut control, which cutshigh from either channel end as it is turned up.Flexible powerThe O/P Switch adds even more flexibility to this AC15. Thisswitch changes the power output valves from PentodeMode, which is the normal operating mode of the poweramplifier, to Triode Mode which halves the power output to7.5 Watts and will alter the tone to be somewhat smoother. The finishing touchesGreat care and research went into the cosmetics for thisspecial amplifier to meld vintage-correct attributes with somemodern revisions. These touches include a vintage “TV Front”cabinet, pre-1960 logo placement, and a vintage-inspiredcream vinyl covering. An extremely limited edition run ofamplifiers will be produced with oiled hardwood cabinets.Go to www.voxamps.co.uk for complete specifications!Location: Demark Street, London’s Tin PanAlley, is filled with specialist music shops andvisited daily by artists and celebrities.6

CUSTOM CLASSICSERIESTICKETTOg;RIDEThe Custom Classic series is theculmination of over 45 years of highquality guitar amplifier design andfabrication. VOX has taken the best AC30designs and added a number of usefulfeatures to create the most tonally flexibleand affordable AC30 to date. >>8

CUSTOM CLASSICSERIESfg;History in the makingWhy has the AC30 been an icon for decades? It’s theamplifier’s unique, warm tone, its player friendly responseand feel, and its primeval circuit design. With its straightforward“what you see is what you get” control format, theAC30 was a hit with artists from the very beginning. Backthen, VOX owned the ‘60s “British Invasion” and to thisday the AC30 is widely used by guitarists performing in ahuge range of musical styles.ggg;ggg; ggg;fgdfggg; fgggWith a number of modern enhancements including blendablechannels, a true bypass FX loop, spring reverb, andmaster volume to name just a few, the AC30 CustomClassic is an evolution of the original that is sure tobecome a classic in its own right.fAttaining the highest standardsThe Custom Classic series is produced in our verticallyintegrated manufacturing facility under the supervision ofUK-based VOX R&D Ltd. What this means to you is thatwe have total control of the design, the quality, and thesound of your amplifier. Our factory is capable of manyprocesses not found in most guitar amplifier factories. Wedesign and manufacture our own transformers, speakers(except for the venerable VOX “Blue” which is manufacturedby Celestion), and cabinets, and we build our ownelectronics. All components have been designed, manufactured,or selected so that the performance and sound ofyour Custom Classic is second to none.An evolution in toneWhen we set out to create the AC30 Custom Classic westarted from our most highly acclaimed model to date, theAC30 Hand Wired. With twin inputs (High and Low) and aMaster Volume circuit, all of these amps offer highly interactiveBass and Treble tone controls, as well as the VOXTone Cut control (which varies the presence in the poweramp section) for even greater tonal variety. We also includedClassic Tremolo with variable Depth control and a versatilespring reverb with Level and Tone controls, as well as aDwell switch which varies the amount of drive going intothe reverb for high or low gain sounds.ggg; Two blendable channels, a firstNot only does the AC30 Custom Classic include two channels,it also offers the ability to blend those channelstogether. The Top Boost Channel serves up that classicAC30 tone, while our new expanded NormalChannel now offers two modes – Normal and Bright –which allow you to achieve the sounds of an assortment ofvintage AC30s. Use the channels individually or blendthem together for increased tonal flexibility to create aunique sound and feel that’s all your own.Control freaks rejoice! The AC30 Custom Classic is fully equipped with well thoughtout and easy-to-use controls. With a Custom/Normal EQswitch, Tone control, and Dwell switch for the spring reverb,Master Volume, fully variable Tremolo on all channels and atrue bypass Effects Loop, we’ve thought of everything! We’veeven included a switchable cathode resistor that lowers poweroutput and increases tube life. Of course, the AC30 CustomClassic comes with our standard controls like Treble, Bass,Tone, Volume, Standby and more. The AC15: when less is moreFirst introduced in 1958, the AC15 15 Watt combo has been theamp of choice for countless guitar players throughout theworld. Like its big brother the AC30 Custom Classic, this flexible, combo amp is equipped with a number of modern featureslike master volume, global reverb, and tremolo. The AC15CC1 offers an array of useful controls including fullyvariable tremolo Speed and Depth, foot-switchable tremoloand reverb with the included VF002 footswitch, Bass, Treble,Volume controls, and switchable impedance (8 or 16 Ohms).Multiple configurationsThe Custom Classic series comes in our most expansivearray of models ever to cover a variety of needs and playerpreferences. BRIAN MAY AC30BMCUSTOM LIMITED EDITION12

df;dfgdfgdf;fg;“You, like me, are unimpressed by dozens ofcontrols on a guitar amplifier. You want ONEknob, and IT SOUNDS PERFECT – right? Well, this is it. To the best of our capability andbelief, here is an amp you will never have tomess with. If it sounds great for you today, itwill always sound great. Power up, plug in,turn up the ONE volume knob, and play. Wehope you love it – the concept and the Amp.”– Brian MayThe AC30BM is our tribute to one of VOX’s longstandingambassadors of rock history – namelyBrian May. Between Brian’s unique style and thestately arena tone of his wall of AC30s, there isa “kind of magic” that has wowed audiencesworldwide for more than 30 years.Legendary toneThe mainstay of Brian’s tone has been the AC30’s NormalChannel fed from a small treble/mid boost pedal bothusually played flat out and, of course, Brian’s infamoushome-built guitar – the “Red Special.” Over time Brian’sequipment has been stripped to the bare essentials andfine tuned to give him the best and most reliable performancewithout any extra circuitry. With Brian’s valued input VOX has created the AC30BM,which is a re-creation of Brian’s stage amp and boostpedal set-up, and is a limited edition run of only 500combos world-wide, never to be repeated.Enhanced to perfectionTo complete the package, and to make it slightly moreversatile, we have built the boost circuit into the ampitself rather than a separate pedal and made it footswitchable. We have also incorporated a 15 Watt switchon the back panel. The 15 Watt switching circuitry is aunique VOX circuit that not only changes the number ofoutput valves that are in operation and the value of theoutput cathode resistor that bias the valves, but alsochanges the impedance of the output transformer. Manyamps have “half power” switches fitted, but none of themdo it this way – the RIGHT way!The construction of the amp chassis itself is predominantlyhand wired using components mounted on turret tags inthe time honored way, although where this is not suitable, for a variety of reasons (such as the booster circuit), thereis also some printed circuit board construction.Specifications: Custom built AC30 2 x 12" combo using Baltic birchplywood fitted with Celestion/VOX Alnico Blue 12" 15 Watt loudspeakers• Steel/Aluminum chassis finished in red paint and white silkscreenlegend • Built-in treble/mid single transistor boost circuit withgain and bypass panel switches, and external (supplied) footswitch •2 x 12AX7/ECC83, 4 x EL84 and 1 x GZ34 valves (tubes) • Dimensions(W x D x H): 705mm x 265mm x 540mm • Weight: 33.5 KG.13

dfCLASSIC PLUSRANGEdfghj;dfgTwo channels, endless possibilitiesThe Classic Plus is a channel-switching valve pre- andpower-amp guitar amplifier that can produce manyflavours of tone, from pristine clean to impressive highgains, and all points between. The two channels have avariety of wide-ranging controls to help you create thesound textures that you desire.Channel 1 covers classic VOX AC30 tones, fromsparkling clean to raunchy overdrive. The EQ on thischannel is of the interactive passive format that is historicto VOX Top Boost amplifiers and boasts the additionof the famous Tone Cut control, which musically rolls offhigh end as it is turned up.Channel 2 picks up where Channel 1 leaves off, deliveringeverything from modern blues and classic rock tones allthe way to high gain classic metal sounds and fluid leadtones. While Channel 2’s EQ controls are also of theinteractive passive format, they are centered on differentfrequencies to enhance the higher gain capabilities ofChannel 2. The Channel 2 Bright Switch brings in anextra capacitor (switch down) across the Gain control toboost the high-mid and upper frequencies and is particularlyeffective on lower gain settings. The Bright Switchis great for giving extra bite and clarity to muddy soundinghumbuckers. The Fat Switch adds extra gain andfocuses the mid range of the guitar and amp, which helpsproduce a “singing” tone when playing lead lines. The Presence Control circuit is another unique feature tothe AC range. It combines the traditional active poweramp feedback circuit with a passive circuit withinChannel 2’s preamp. This not only focuses the Presenceboost, but, if you turn the control down, it will also introducea high frequency cut filter that can be used to defuzzthe preamp distortion, making it less aggressive andsweeter. Since the channels of the Classic Plus are totallyindependent, you do not need to compromise to achieveyour desired tonal palette. It’s almost like being able tomix and match two completely different amplifiers!dfTotal, tonal controlThe Classic Plus range is packed with features and controlsthat meld the best of VOX’s history with modernconveniences. The Classic Plus features a long spring,high-quality Spring Reverb with individual, foot-switchablelevel control for each channel, plus series FX loopingwith selectable level control and bypass switching. The Bypass slide switch will either engage the loop(switch ON) or disconnect the effects loop circuitry fromthe rest of the amplifier (switch OFF). With the Loopdfghj;switch in the OFF position, the Send jack socket is stilloperational and can therefore be used to send the signalto another device such as a tuner or slave amplifier. TheLoop Level switch allows the loop to be used at twodifferent signal levels (approximately +4dBV (high) and-10dBV (low)). This will enable a wide range of devices tobe connected to the amplifier. Channel switching andon/off reverb control is managed with the suppliedVF002 dual footswitch.dfghjGo directThe Classic Plus range features extensive direct recordingand line out capabilities from both balanced XLR andunbalanced 1/4" outputs with rotary level control andground lift switching. To enable great sounding connectioninto PA or recording equipment, the DI also featuresa speaker emulating Low Pass Filter (LPF) network. Thiscan be switched into or out of circuit as required.Another great plus of the DI circuit is that it is post thepower amplifier’s phase inverter valve, and before theOutput Master Volume control. No matter how loud orquiet your stage level is, you have totally independentcontrol of the DI output level. You can even turn theMaster Volume totally off and use the DI output for“silent” recording for those midnight sessions.Power trioThe Classic Plus range is comprised of the 50-WattAC50CPH head (4 x 12AX7/ECC83, 2 x EL34B), the 100-Watt AC100CPH head (4 x 12AX7/ECC83, 4 x EL34B),and the 50-Watt AC50CP2 combo (4 x 12AX7/ECC83, 2 xEL34B). The AC50CP2 comes loaded with two VOX originaldesign 12" speakers voiced for maximum performancewith the Classic Plus. Pair either of the heads withVOX’s V412BN cabinet, and you’ve got an unbeatabletone machine. No matter how you play, there’s a ClassicPlus for you. And with their combination of unmatchedtone, flexibility and ultra-cool looks, the Classic Plusrange is at home on any size stage. COOLTRON PEDALSqqThe COOLTRON series of effect pedals are totally independent overdrive sounds (aptly named OD1seven professional true bypass stompboxes and OD2) to complement a clean-bypassed tone. Tothat use a 12AU7 preamp-type tube at low make it even more flexible, we’ve added an assignablevoltage to deliver the kind of tone that, until (OD1/OD2/both) low-end bass boost function for fatbottomednow, would have been impossible to achieveoverdrive tones.in a battery-powered pedal.fgh;VibraVOX (CT06TR)Named after VOX’s first amplifier tremolo circuit, the newVIBRAVOX brings the signature Vibrato/Tremolo sound ofthe original 1958 VOX AC30 to any amplifier, in a dualmode stompbox design. To increase flexibility we’veadded additional user control and features. By includingtwo Speed controls and an effects assign switch (T1/T2,T1/V2, V1/V2), a number of possibilities become available. The VIBRAVOX can be configured as a tremolo-onlyor vibrato-only pedal with two foot-switchable speeds. You can also choose to configure the pedal to switchbetween tremolo and vibrato. The pedal automaticallyramps between speeds, adding a taste of that unmistakable“rotating-speaker” sound.dfghjkas as“Duel” Overdrive (CT07DO)Double the drive with the new Duel Overdrive pedal. The Treble control can take your tone from cuttingattack at one extreme to smooth and liquidy attackat the other. The Bass control adds low-end girth at highersettings and a warm round smoothness at lower settings. The OTTB even comes with a Cut control to add orremove higher frequencies at the turn of a knob. Vary theoverall gain of the pedal from bluesy and mellow to fatand saturated. Or use the Standard/Custom switch toeither make the EQ very interactive in Standard mode, orhave it behave more like a traditional AC30 Hand Wiredin Custom mode.Snake Charmer Compressor (CT05CO)The Snake Charmer’s compression affects the ratio andthreshold of the signal, smoothing out peaks and spikes. At the same time, the Snake Charmer also increases theGain level to complement the corresponding ratio andthreshold settings so that the overall gain remains constant. There’s also a Gain Reduction Indicator that givesyou visual cues of the results of your settings. A High/LowSwitch lets you choose between two overall levels of ratio. The Snake Charmer is equipped with other controls forAttack, which determines how quickly the gain reductionkicks in, and Release, which determines how long the gaindfghjk;is attenuated. Gain 1 dishes out vintage distortion whileGain 2 packs a more modern, aggressive sound withslightly scooped mids. Both are adjustable from subtle tocompletely over the top. A Bass control adds extra lowat the other.Brit Boost (CT03BT)Give your tone extra muscle with the Brit Boost pedal. The Treble Boost setting pumps up the treble and uppermiddle frequencies, just like you’d expect from a vintageTreble Booster pedal. In the Full Range Boost position, the pedal enhances all frequencies. It adds low mids andbottom end to the Treble Boost mode and is good forpushing a slightly overdriven amp into heavy overdrive. Again knob varies the overall gain of the pedal from mellowand warm to grinding and ripping! Plus, a Tone knobadjusts the overall tonality of the pedal. Of course, there’s a true bypass switch that lets your signal flowthrough without coloring the tone.Big Ben Overdrive (CT02OD)Preserve your amp’s warm, silky tone while pushing yoursound into overdrive! The tube-powered Big BenOverdrive pedal responds to your playing dynamics andcranks out that extra firepower when you really dig in andwant to cut through.
