(5) The Record Weeding Committee shall verify the list of record,prepared under sub-rule (3) with the record proposed to be weeded out forensuring that the list meets out the conditions of sub-rule (1) and the specifiedretention period. The Committee shall also look through the record to satisfyitself that the record has lost its utility and entries in columns 13 and 16 shallbe made for finalizing the list of record to be destroyed or weeded out. Entriesin the “Remarks” columns can be made whenever necessary. i.e, when theclassification of a record is changed resulting in the transfer of it to anotherperiod for elimination or destruction etc. The Committee after approving thelist of record to be destroyed or eliminated shall appoint any official of thePanchayat or of the department of Panchayati Raj to be a weeder of record.(6) Immediately after destruction of the weeded record of thePanchayat, the members of the Committee constituted under sub-rule (4) shallput their signatures as a mark of authentication at the end of the list of theweeded out record in Form-35.]150. Repeal and savings.- (1) The Himachal Pradesh, GramPanchayat Rules, 1971 and the Himachal Pradesh Panchayat Samiti Rules,1971 are hereby repealed:Provided that rules, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 of the Himachal PradeshPanchayat Samiti Rules, 1971 shall continue to be in force till they aresubstituted by corresponding rules under the Himachal Pradesh PanchayatiRaj Act, 1994.(2) Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or any action taken,under these rules so repealed, shall be deemed to have been done or takenunder the corresponding provisions of these rules to the extent that they arenot inconsistent with the provisions of these rules._______59
