SUMMARY OF MEETINGS SPOG <strong>Subcommittee</strong> on Domestic Trafficking held a total <strong>of</strong> five meetings betweenDecember 2005 and March 2006. What follows are brief summaries <strong>of</strong> each:First Meeting: December 14, 2005Purpose: Welcome and Discussion <strong>of</strong> MissionThe group discussed <strong>the</strong> <strong>Subcommittee</strong>’s three-part mission and goals. Workingdefinitions <strong>of</strong> “domestic victims” and “international victims” were discussed and agreedupon. As an action item for our next meeting, participants were asked to outline <strong>the</strong>services that <strong>the</strong>ir agencies make available to victims <strong>of</strong> trafficking.Second Meeting: January 19, 2006Purpose: Briefing on Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act <strong>of</strong> 2005(TVPRA) and Discussion <strong>of</strong> Services Available to VictimsThe meeting opened with briefing on TVPRA provided by a staff member from <strong>the</strong><strong>Subcommittee</strong> on Africa, Global Human Rights and International Operations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>House Committee on International Relations. The group <strong>the</strong>n discussed <strong>the</strong> outlines <strong>of</strong>services available to victims <strong>of</strong> trafficking as submitted by participating agencies.Third Meeting: February 9, 2006Purpose: Presentations by Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) withExperience Assisting VictimsRepresentatives from three NGOs briefed <strong>the</strong> group on <strong>the</strong>ir experiences and thoughts on<strong>the</strong> differences in services available to and accessed by domestic and internationalvictims.Fourth Meeting: February 27, 2006Purpose: Discussion <strong>of</strong> Findings and RecommendationsThe group discussed our recommendations based on findings from our previousmeetings.Fifth Meeting: March 7, 2006Purpose: Discussion <strong>of</strong> <strong>Final</strong> <strong>Report</strong>The group met to discuss our final report.5
