PILGRIMAGE OF DEVOTEES OFGODAVARI DISTRICTSMORE THAN TWO THOUSANDdevotees including 950 Girijans(tribals) came on a pilgrimageto Prasanthi Nilayam from East and WestGodavari districts of Andhra Pradesh on 27th,28th and 29th June 2009 to express theirgratitude to Bhagavan for providing drinkingwater to the people of this region and forbringing about transformation in the villagesand tribal areas through Sri Sathya Sai VillageIntegrated Programme launched by Sri SathyaSai Seva Organisation of Andhra Pradesh inthe villages of these districts.Tribal Dances by Youth and Bal VikasChildrenOn 27th June 2009, a group of thesedevotees and Bal Vikas students presentedexcellent dances in Sai Kulwant Hall in theDivine Presence of Bhagavan. The programmestarted at 4.30 p.m. after Bhagavan’s Darshanin Sai Kulwant Hall. At the outset, Dr. BhaskarRao, an ardent devotee of Bhagavan fromthis region, dwelt upon various measuresbeing undertaken by the Sai Organisationfor the welfare of Girijans and developmentof villages. Dr. Rao stated that out of 432villages of this region, the Sai Organisationhad adopted 44 villages in the fi rst phase andSeva Dal volunteers of the Sai Organisationwere working untiringly for the all-rounddevelopment of these villages. After thespeech of Dr. Rao, various groups of SevaDal volunteers carrying name plates ofGroups of youth from East and West Godavaridistricts of Andhra Pradesh showcased thecultural heritage of Girijans by performing anarray of tribal dances on 27th June 2009.the villages served by them came before thedais and offered their salutations to Bhagavan.This was followed by an array of tribal dancesby various groups of youth to showcase therich cultural heritage of the Girijans inhabitingthese two districts. Besides, Girijan Bal Vikaschildren performed thrilling dances to thetune of sweet songs describing the glory ofBhagavan as the Avatar of Kali Yuga whohas incarnated as the saviour of mankind andredeemer of the noble. At the conclusion ofthese excellent dances, Bhagavan blessed thedancers, posed for group photos with them anddistributed clothes to them.
