Following is a selection highlighting the versatility of the RNAShowground’s venues.In October, more than 1000 hopefuls turned out for the Brisbane auditions of So YouFluffy FestivalIn Spring 2007, Fortitude Valley’s famous Familynightclub held its first outdoor Fluffy Festival at the RNAShowgrounds. The Fluffy Festival transformed the siteinto a no-expense spared fluff-tastic wonderland. Ticketholders rejoiced in our City’s fine culture through music,live acts, DJs, performers, shows, roaming colour andentertainment. With colourful creatures, fine-spun fabricsand easy on the eye entertainers, visitors reveled in theirSunday best among some of the most decadent décor toever grace the grounds!Back to Brisbane Charity BallWith Hills Hoist clothes lines in the Coffee ClubAuditorium Foyer, kewpie dolls on sticks and Brisbanebands to entertain, 400 Back to Brissie Charity Ballgoers immersed themselves in a celebration of Brisbaneat the RNA Showgrounds in May. The event was puttogether by two Brisbane women to raise money for theYoungcare charity. And what a success the event was.They raised more than $73,000 on the night, anamazing achievement.Queensland Truck and Machinery ShowOrganised by the Commercial Vehicle IndustryAssociation of Queensland, the Queensland Truck &Machinery Show is held every two years and attracts inexcess of 260 exhibitors and close to 50,000 attendees.As the largest exhibition of its type in the SouthernHemisphere, the Queensland Truck & Machinery Showstands alone as the premier event in Australia for thetransport industry showcasing the latest in heavy vehicles,technology, engineering and innovation. The largeopen indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the RNAShowgrounds clearly work well for this magnificenttrade event.Caravan, Camping and Touring Holiday ShowThis week long event has been held at the RNAShowgrounds for many years and is one of the mostpopular yearly events. Organised by CaravanningQueensland, the event is a showcase of our State’s caravandealers, manufacturers, camping suppliers, serviceproviders and caravan park operators. The Show utilisesevery inch of the RNA Showgrounds site and attractsmore than 80,000 eager holiday makers.
