JAN/FEB10ETA ®InternationalThe High-Tech NewsVOLUME 34 • SECTION 1LETTER from thePRESIDENTDear Readers:The 2010 ETA Board of Directors met for the first time this month and already, in their initial teleconference gathering, they have enacted two important pieces of ETA legislation that you will want to know more about and perhaps even becomeinvolved in.The first is the creation of a board position for the new certification area in Alternative Energy. This is a large and manytiered program covering several different areas of energy generation such as photovoltaic, small and large wind turbine, solar thermal, fuel cells, microhydro and geothermal technologies. This was a large enough program that the board felt aseparate division was needed. After much discussion it was determined that based on his involvement in qualifying technical background and Alternative Energy, George Lister, CETmawith Texas State Technical College, Sweetwater, TX was selected to fill this newly created board position. After this initial term the Alternative Energyposition will become an elected ETA Board spot.CEO EmeritusPresidentNew Media Director/EditorMarketing/Membership CoordinatorFinancial DirectorDirector of CET AdministrationCET Division DirectorAssoc.
