sterility, time of collection, delay in sending the sample, etc. CVS and/or skin sample of the fetus is found to be thebest suitable tissue for successful tissue culture of POC.Note: Test pricing is subject to be change upon periodical reviews.Sending samples to the cytogenetic laboratory :1) For Peripheral Blood Chromosomal analysis, 3-5ml of fresh venous blood taken in a lithium heparin (green tube)vacutainer tube .After collection shake the tube by inverting a couple of times to avoid clotting. Blood sampleswill be accepted on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays only.2) Bone marrow samples: Collect 2-3 ml of bone marrow in green cap lithium heparin tube. Avoid clotting byinverting the tube a couple of times after collection. Samples will be accepted from Sunday-Wednesday.3) For prenatal diagnosis amniotic fluid (15 ml, no blood contamination) and chorion villi sample (CVS in sterileculture media) to be collected in sterile tube. Before collection of sample please call the lab to obtain these tubes.4) Do not freeze any sample. If required to be stored overnight, keep at 4 o C.All samples should be sterile, transportedat room temperature and must reach the laboratory before 1.00 p.m.For more information please contact:Dr. Sabita K.
