If the encapsulation has beenchanged to frame relay and you want to restore PPP encapsulation, or to change the PPPparameters:1. Ensure that you are in the context of a serial interface that is defined on the port. If you arenot in the context of a serial interface, use the interface Serial command. To view allserial interfaces that are defined, use the show interfaces Serial command.2. If the interface is not already configured to use PPP encapsulation, use theencapsulation ppp command to change the encapsulation to PPP.3. If you want to change the queuing mode of the interface, see Configuring Weighted FairVoIP Queuing (WFVQ) on page 76 for instructions.4. Use the following commands to change the interface parameters:- Use the ip address command to configure the IP address and subnet mask of theinterface.- Use the ppp timeout ncp command to set the maximum time to wait for the networklayer to negotiate. If this time is exceeded, the G350 restarts the PPP session.- Use the ppp timeout retry command to set the maximum time to wait for aresponse during PPP negotiation.- Use the keepalive command to enable keepalive or change the interval to whichkeepalive is set. When activated, keepalive performs the initial negotiation and sendshealth checks at defined intervals to the other side of the interface. To deactivatekeepalive, use the no form of the command or set the health check interval to 0.5. Type exit to return to general context.
