Configuring a WAN InterfaceFigure 3: USP Port - PPP ProtocolFigure 4: USP Port - Frame Relay Protocol on page 84 illustrates a USP port. All data from theUSP port is encapsulated using the frame relay protocol, and is sent via a frame relay serialinterface and sub-interfaces over the single IP interfaces defined using DLCI.Figure 4: USP Port - Frame Relay ProtocolFrame Relay multipoint topology supportThe Avaya G350 Media Gateway supports point-to-point frame relay connections. To enableyou to use the G350 as an endpoint in a Point to Multi-Point (PTMP) topology, the G350supports inverse ARP replies. The G350 responds to inverse ARP queries received on framerelay sub-interfaces with the proper inverse ARP replies. When you connect the G350 as an endpoint in a PTMP configuration, you need to increase theOSPF timers manually. Use the ip ospf network point-to-multipoint command inInterface Serial context to increase the OSPF timers with the following values:●Increase the OSPF Hello Interval to 30 seconds● Increase the OSPF Dead Interval to 120 secondsFor more information on OSPF, see Configuring OSPF on page 194.84 Administration of the Avaya G350 Media Gateway
