Configuring VoIP QoSConfiguring QoS parametersThe G350 uses MGCP (H248) protocol for call signalling and call routing information. Use thefollowing commands to configure QoS for signalling and VoIP traffic. For more information aboutthese commands, including parameters and default settings, see Avaya G350 Media GatewayCLI Reference, 555-245-202.●●Use the set qos control command to define the source for QoS control parameters.The source can be either local where the user configures the values locally on the G350,or remote in which case the values are obtained from the G350’s registered MGC.Use the set qos bearer command to provide the means to set up QoS parameters forthe VoIP bearer.Note:●●●Note:The parameters you define using the set qos bearer command may conflictwith the default QoS list (400). This causes the 801.2p for VoIP packets to differfrom settings configured in the QoS list. To avoid this problem, perform thefollowing steps:1. Create a new QoS list.2. In the new QoS list, either● Set the default IP rule composite operation to No Change, OR● Configure the DSCP map according to the QoS parameters you defined using the setqos bearer command. For instructions on creating a QoS list, see QoS lists onpage 254.Use the set qos signal command to provide the means to set up QoS parameters forMGCP (H248) communication with the MGC.Use the voip-queue-delay command to set the maximum queue delay for which toestimate the high priority queue size necessary to meet the queuing delay for a specificVoIP codec.
