Configuring loggingSyslog serverA Syslog server is a remote server that receives logging messages using Syslog protocol. Thisenables storage <strong>of</strong> large log files, which you can use to generate reports. You can define up tothree Syslog servers.To define and configure a Syslog server:1. To define <strong>the</strong> Syslog server, type <strong>the</strong> set logging server command, followed by <strong>the</strong> IPaddress <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> server.2. To enable <strong>the</strong> Syslog server, type <strong>the</strong> set logging server enable command, followedby <strong>the</strong> IP address <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Syslog server. When you define a new Syslog server, it is definedas disabled, so you must use this command in order to enable <strong>the</strong> server.3. To define an output facility for <strong>the</strong> Syslog server, type <strong>the</strong> set logging serverfacility command, followed by <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> output facility and <strong>the</strong> IP address <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Syslog server. (This step is optional.)
