Accessing <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong>Manual re-au<strong>the</strong>nticationYou can perform a manual re-au<strong>the</strong>ntication at any time. To perform a manual re-au<strong>the</strong>ntication,use <strong>the</strong> set prt dot1x re-au<strong>the</strong>nticate command, followed by <strong>the</strong> module and portnumber (or range <strong>of</strong> ports). For example:<strong>G350</strong>-001(super)# set port dot1x re-au<strong>the</strong>nticate 6/5-10When you perform a manual re-au<strong>the</strong>ntication, <strong>the</strong> port or ports attempt to re-au<strong>the</strong>nticate <strong>the</strong>host immediately.Optional 802.1x commandsYou can use <strong>the</strong> following commands to modify 802.1x parameters:●●Use <strong>the</strong> clear dot1x config command to disable 802.1x on <strong>the</strong> <strong>G350</strong> and return todefault parameters.Use <strong>the</strong> set port dot1x initialize command, followed by <strong>the</strong> module and portnumber (or range <strong>of</strong> ports) to initialize a port or ports.● Use <strong>the</strong> set dot1x quiet-period command, followed by a time period in seconds (0to 65535), to set <strong>the</strong> minimum idle time between au<strong>the</strong>ntication attempts for all ports onwhich 802.1x is enabled.●●●Use <strong>the</strong> set port dot1x quiet-period command, followed by <strong>the</strong> module and portnumber (or range <strong>of</strong> ports) and a time period in seconds (0 to 65535), to set <strong>the</strong> minimumidle time between au<strong>the</strong>ntication attempts for a specific port or ports.Use <strong>the</strong> set dot1x tx-period command, followed by a time period in seconds (1 to65535), to set <strong>the</strong> time internal between attempts to access <strong>the</strong> Au<strong>the</strong>nticated Station forall ports on which 802.1x is enabled.Use <strong>the</strong> set port dot1x tx-period command, followed by <strong>the</strong> module and portnumber (or range <strong>of</strong> ports) and a time period in seconds (0 to 65535), to set <strong>the</strong> timeinternal between attempts to access <strong>the</strong> Au<strong>the</strong>nticated Station for a specific port or ports.● Use <strong>the</strong> set dot1x supp-timeout command, followed by a time period in seconds (1to 65535), to set <strong>the</strong> au<strong>the</strong>nticator-to-supplicant retransmission timeout period (<strong>the</strong> time for<strong>the</strong> <strong>G350</strong> to wait for a reply from <strong>the</strong> Au<strong>the</strong>nticated Station) for all ports on which 802.1x isenabled.●●Use <strong>the</strong> set port dot1x supp-timeout command, followed by <strong>the</strong> module and portnumber (or range <strong>of</strong> ports) and a time period in seconds (0 to 65535), to set <strong>the</strong>au<strong>the</strong>nticator-to-supplicant retransmission timeout period (<strong>the</strong> time for <strong>the</strong> <strong>G350</strong> to wait fora reply from <strong>the</strong> Au<strong>the</strong>nticated Station) for a specific port or ports.Use <strong>the</strong> set dot1x max-req command, followed by a number from 1 to 10, to set <strong>the</strong>maximum number <strong>of</strong> times <strong>the</strong> port tries to retransmit requests to <strong>the</strong> Au<strong>the</strong>nticated Stationbefore <strong>the</strong> session is terminated for all ports on which 802.1x is enabled.44 <strong>Administration</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong>
