Accessing <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong>To access <strong>the</strong> <strong>G350</strong> CLI via telnet through a dialup connection from a remote location via <strong>the</strong>S8300:1. Connect a USB modem to ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> two USB ports on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> S8300 <strong>Media</strong> Server. Itis recommended to use a Multitech MultiModem USB, MT5634ZBA-USB-V92.2. Use <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> Maintenance Web Interface (MWI) to configure <strong>the</strong> USB port on <strong>the</strong> S8300for modem use. For instructions, see Installation and Upgrades for <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong><strong>Gateway</strong>, 03-300394.3. From a remote computer, create a dialup network connection to <strong>the</strong> S8300. Use <strong>the</strong> TCP/IPand PPP protocols to create <strong>the</strong> connection.4. Open any standard telnet program on <strong>the</strong> remote computer.5. Enter <strong>the</strong> command telnet, followed by <strong>the</strong> IP address <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> S8300 USB port to which<strong>the</strong> modem is connected.6. Enter <strong>the</strong> command telnet, followed by <strong>the</strong> PMI <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>G350</strong>.Accessing <strong>Avaya</strong> IWThe <strong>Avaya</strong> Installation Wizard (<strong>Avaya</strong> IW) is a web-based installation wizard that is used with<strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong> to perform initial configuration tasks and to upgrade s<strong>of</strong>twareand firmware. The <strong>Avaya</strong> IW is designed for use with systems that include an S8300 <strong>Media</strong>Server, operating in ei<strong>the</strong>r ICC or LSP mode.
